Alphabet Handling

Alphabets

Most cipher tools show a alphabet that is used to de/encode the texts. By tapping on the alphabet row you can expand further inputs to customize the alphabet. The row below the alphabet can be used to enter the basic alphabet to use. Without the alphabet inApp you can enter any alphabet you want, but have to calculate codewords etc. yourself and can’t save or load an alphabet.
If you choose “upper case letters only” e.g. “a” and “A” will be treated the same and texts will be converted to upper case. Without this option you have to upper and lower case letters to the alphabet.
The codeword enables special computations on the alphabet as explained below.

Save and Load Alphabets

You can save an entered alphabet when you purchased the Alphabet inApp to reuse it in other cipher tools or a cache later on etc. The alphabet selection to load a saved alphabet does not only show your saved ones but also a few commonly used alphabets and the one you currently use in other cipher tools.

Left Codeword

The codeword is added at beginning of the alphabet and all characters that are not part of the codeword are attached starting with “a”.

Right Codeword

The codeword is added at beginning of the alphabet and all characters that are not part of the codeword are attached in reversed order starting with “z”.

Progressive Codeword

The codeword is added at beginning of the alphabet and all characters that are not part of the codeword are attached starting with the character the would follow on the codeword’s last character.
